Everything about sex is normal, and I would much rather a kid go to a planned parenthood center and learn everything they need to know about their bodies and how they work, instead of waltzing right in confused as fuck and uncomfortable about their bodies. Masturbation is normal, sex is normal, and fetishes are as commonplace as a cold in the winter, believe it or not.

Just because you’re uncomfortable talking about it because it makes you all squirmy in your guts because you never had to talk about it before doesn’t mean you can yank funding from Planned Parenthood because they’ll educate kids on safe sex.

Do you really think that kids don’t already seek this shit out?

I was fourteen years old when I started writing porn. Fourteen. It was bad porn, but it was porn. (Remind me later to find it again and type it up and I will, it’s hilarious.) Planned Parenthood is tame compared to the fetish sites you stumble across with a few well-worded SEO searches of google. Kids will find out whether you want them to or not.

We don’t have the programs in place to help them with childcare, or help them buy diapers, or formula, or healthy food to eat. (I grew up poor, I know how bad it is.) Or they’re tossed to the mercy of the foster system, which, believe it or not, is almost as bad as a broken home. The foster system is broken, so bad that it hurts to even think about.

Read a couple stories about a social worker’s day. If you don’t shake and cry after hearing what these people find, I condemn you as a horrible human being.

But you don’t care about it, in fact, you don’t even want to hear about it, do you? Your job is done — you stopped that evil doctor from ending that poor fetus’s life. Pat on the back for you, pro-lifer, because your job is done. Now this kid will grow up in a system designed to shuffle him/her away, lose them between the cracks, and break them in ways you can’t even imagine. Or he’ll starve right beside his mom, who probably has a whole host of problems she can’t take care of because she has no money. (Some moms do get stronger and make it on their own, and to them, I take off my cap, because I respect the hell out of these ladies. But for every story like that you hear, there are ten more about moms who don’t, because they don’t know how to deal.)

We’re not even going to talk about the women who have already gone through the trauma of rape, are we? Because ‘everything happens for a reason’, and ‘you shouldn’t have worn what you did’, ‘you shouldn’t have led him on like that’, ‘you secretly enjoyed it, didn’t you, now look what you’ve gotten yourself into’. No.

You shut the fuck up right now. Because unless you have a uterus, you don’t get to talk about abortion. Unless it’s your body, you cannot decide for anyone, man or woman, what happens to that body. If your religion says that you can’t have birth control? Fine, you don’t have to have birth control. But don’t take it away from someone else, or deny them sexual education because you don’t think it’s necessary. You don’t get to make that call for anyone but yourself. When your teen comes of age, and is a legal adult? They can choose for themselves, too. You can’t stop them, all you can do is hinder the process, which hurts more than it saves their immortal soul, I promise you.

Planned Parenthood supports the reproductive health of thousands of women, providing them with birth control that they might otherwise not be able to afford. It educates both men and women on how to have safe sex that won’t endanger either partner, and teaches that it can be a fun, enjoyable experience for both. It helps women from low-income areas find a doctor for mammograms and exams for breast cancer, and provides information on breast cancer awareness. It pays for the screenings and the doctors out of its government funding. It provides a service to the poor areas, where the problems you talk about in your video would run even more rampant than they already do.

Planned Parenthood does not sell sex. It provides education and resources for consenting adults to have safe, relatively not traumatizing sex. (Let’s face it, almost everyone’s first time is going to be lackluster, embarrassing, or both. It’s not painted in sunshine and roses or anything. It’s sex. It’s messy, hilarious, and a whole hell of a lot of fun, but that first time is almost always awkward.)

Please stop spreading lies over something that provides women with reproductive health care and god forbid, teaches them something about their bodies other than the fact that they’re just supposed to lie there and take it, bear the children, and suffer in silence. It’s 2012, not 1412.

These are very basic human rights you are trying to deny people who are different from you, and that’s what makes me angry. I may not agree with everyone, but I respect their rights to make decisions on their own, like a goddamned adult. This is an informed, rational choice, and you’re trying to deny it from everyone because you’re all ‘oh noez think of the childrens good lawdy’.

You. Are. Wrong.

It’s very simple:

Don’t like gay marriage? Don’t get one. Don’t like abortion? Don’t have one. Don’t like your rights taken away? Don’t try to take away anyone else’s.

Don’t be a dick.
